The Moleskine Project is an ongoing international collaboration of writers that is both a writing Challenge and a charitable effort.

What is it? How does it work?

The Project began with a Moleskine notebook; these books are internationally known as the notebook of choice for such legendary writers and artists as Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, etc.

One of these books was purchased; the purchaser wrote a short story on the first page - the first side of the first page. He then passed the notebook to another writer, who wrote her own short story in the opposite side of the page. Then the notebook was passed to another writer, and another, and so on, each of whom wrote their own original story on one side of one page.

Eventually the notebook will be sent overseas; it will travel all over the world, having its pages filled by writers from many different cultures, maybe even in different languages. It will keep traveling until all 192 pages have been filled.

Once the notebook is filled, it will be sent back to its origin. There, all the stories will be transcribed, formatted and put into a printed version of the book, which will be made available for purchase online. ALL proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to charity; the writers themselves will choose which charity will benefit from their work.
