Genre Challenge will be collecting the stories from the first year of submissions into an anthology. This anthology will be offered through Lulu.com.

Any profits from the sale of the anthology will be donated to NaNoWriMo. The National Novel Writers Month is a nonprofit organization whose participants attempt to write a 50,000 word novel each year during the month of November. Over 79,000 people worldwide participated in the 2006 NaNoWriMo.

In its nine-year existence, NaNoWriMo has used its donations to build libraries in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, and will continue the practice in 2007. NaNoWriMo is a worthwhile and appropriate charity to donate to.

Participation in the anthology is completely voluntary. If you don't want one of your stories included in the anthology, simply indicate so when you submit it. No story will be included in the anthology without stated permission from the author.

You don't have to do anything except write. All the work of compiling and editing the stories for the anthology will be done by the moderator.

The Anthology will contain submitted stories from March 2007 - February 2008. This covers the first year of Challenges. Stories will be sorted within the anthology by Genre (essentially, by month).

Fanfiction stories will not be included. This is obviously for legal reasons. Because of this, the July 2007 (Fanfiction) Challenge will not be represented in the anthology.

Everyone may submit one story per month. If this means you wind up with 10 stories included in the anthology, good on you!

Resubmissions are accepted. If you would like your story included in the anthology but feel that it needs some editing, please feel free to submit an edited version for inclusion instead of the original. Simply repost the edited version, and email the GC moderator to change the link on the site. If your story is going in the anthology, be certain to email and let us know so that we don't use the first version!! The deadline for resubmissions is February 28, 2008.
